Gordon Snarr Farm Flooding 2022

This is the Gordon Snarr farm and farmyard located about 3 miles north of the town of Morris, MB between Hwy 75 and the Red River.

Hwy 75 closed around April 30, 2022 and opened again late June 6, 2022. No repairs were done to the southbound lanes so are still full of potholes at every joint so be careful.

We became an island when Hwy 75 flooded 2 miles north of us at the McTavish Drain on May 9, 2022. We regained road access late on May 17, 2022.

First time in the farm history that we have not gotten one field planted by June 1th. Typically we are done or almost done. Even in 1997, we had some fields planted by now. As of June 6th, we still had not planted one crop. By the end of June 11, 2022 we have 700+ acres seeded. In total, only about 12% of the farm was left unseeded as it was too wet. That's about a quarter section or 144-160 acres.
